This Spotlight on Tech features a global leader defining the way we use software integration technology. Headquartered in Vancouver, Tasktop Technologies transforms the productivity of software delivery, with over a million users worldwide. Their open and collaborative culture allows an innovative work environment and they are no strangers to working up a sweat on their Xbox Kinect. With 83 employees in their five global offices, Tasktop continues to expand their team, particularly their Engineering department in their Vancouver office! 1. Describe your company and your primary product(s) and/or service(s).

Tasktop customers are the global leaders in financial services, insurance, government and manufacturing, and include 21 of the Fortune 100, six of the top 25 banks in the world and three of the top seven US insurance companies. Partners, including CA, HP, IBM and Serena, rely on our independent, vendor-neutral role to connect their customers’ software delivery disciplines via OEM distributions of our products. Tasktop has defined the Software Lifecycle Integration (SLI) category to fulfill our mission to “connect the world of software delivery.”

Our flagship product, Tasktop Sync is an integration server that provides fully automated, enterprise-scale synchronization among the artifacts created and managed within the disparate tools used in software development and delivery organizations. Tasktop Sync works in the background, keeping the flow of information among the practitioners and their tools, constant. Everyone works in their tool of choice, but has real-time access to the changes other team members are making in their tools. Practitioners are better informed and save time. Management has greater visibility across the entire project team, providing information for better decision making and planning.

2. How many employees currently work at your company?

Our company has been experiencing substantial growth in the past few years. We are now up to 45 employees at our Vancouver HQ office. We also have offices in Boston and Austin, USA and London, UK. Globally, we have now reached 83 employees!

3. Where are you located?

We are located in beautiful Coal Harbour in downtown Vancouver. Our shared parking spaces, bike room, and proximity to several bus routes, SkyTrain stations, and SeaBus make the commute into work a breeze! Beautiful views of the city, mountains, Stanley Park, Coal Harbour, and English Bay can be experienced through the floor to ceiling glass windows on our 11th storey office. Love to stay active? We have a gym on site and are minutes away from the Seawall and Stanley Park. We are a block away from Robson Street, providing many shopping and lunch options.

4. Describe the culture at your company.

People at Tasktop take pride in their work and value a high quality work. The open office environment allows for stronger collaborations as well as enhancement of social interactions resulting in a supportive work environment. Our interoffice worldwide competition, the Tasktop Cup, brings exciting challenges every quarter to test your intellect, art skills, sporting knowledge, and generosity. You can expect an individualized companywide welcome on your first day so everyone knows your name and what team you are contributing to. 5. What does your leadership team (and company as a whole) do to support/grow that culture?

As part of the recruitment process, all potential employees interact with the CEO and other members of management team. We operate with an open door policy to promote the regular interaction between staff and management. From our CEO to our interns, all Tasktopians take pride in supporting the success of other team members, maintaining high standards in terms of the products we produce, the work environment we create, and ensuring that Tasktop remains a great place to work.

Employees brag about Tasktop because of the company culture, respect, teamwork, and value of their work. We have a supportive atmosphere for expanding team member’s roles within the company and educational opportunities to learn different and new skill sets. At the end of the day, it is the great people that make working at Tasktop worth bragging about.

7. Describe your most recent achievement, milestone, reason for bragging rights.

In addition to adding many brand name Global 2000 companies to our customer list, and expanding our partnerships to include the companies that make the most widely used software development tools, we have won numerous awards, including our fourth consecutive “Ready to Rocket Award”, IBM’s “Innovation in IT Business Partner Award”, HP’s “AllianceOne Partner of the Year”, and multiple best workplace awards. This year alone our executives have been invited to speak dozens of times at well-known industry events.

8. What kinds of roles are you hiring for?

Our Vancouver office is looking to expand our Engineering department!
