2. How many employees currently work at your company and where are you located?

We currently have 5 employees and an office in Railtown. It is commonly referred to as the Aritzia building because their Canadian head office is in the building and takes up the majority of the space. Most of us cycle to work in the summer.

3. Describe the culture at your company.

First off, we believe in doing business differently. That can sometimes include giving our product to companies who need it for free; not binding people to contracts; not having cancellation or hidden fees; telling a company we are not the right solution for them; etc. We want to work with people, not against them, and create strong relationships with our clients.

Our office has a really laid back atmosphere. We like to enjoy a positive environment that relies on self governance. As long as you get your work or job done then how you go about it is up to you. Our team has at least one day a week where they are working from home. We like to goof around and sing in the office and will enjoy each others company and have a beer together on occasion. It’s a safe place where any ideas from all team members pertaining to the betterment of the platform and company are valued, discussed and implemented where applicable.

4. What does your leadership team (and company as a whole) do to support/grow that culture?

We encourage people to do what works best for them. We ask them how they work best and adapt and make changes where necessary to accommodate them. We also hold our team members accountable; we tell them it’s their responsibility to stay educated and up-to-date on as much as they can be surrounding their jobs and implement anything that will improve our current system and workflow. Essentially, we empower our team members to have a direct influence on our company and platform.

5. When your employees talk about your company, what do they brag about?

Our platform is simple; everybody needs a DAM; they like working with other awesome people and doing business differently – no BS.

7. What kinds of people are you looking for?

Self-motivated people with great work ethic who thrive in a casual working environment. People who want to do business differently.

8. What is your company goal for the coming year?

We are working on complete automation of our production processes as well as developing and implementing Barberstock 5.1, which brings some widely anticipated new features and functionality to the platform. We also anticipate hitting the 100 client milestone this year to which we will be having quite the celebration, which might even include international travel!
