Spotlight on Ayogo

This week’s Spotlight features Ayogo, a leading health tech company that helps patients going through significant health challenges become more engaged, more activated, adherent, and persistent, by using psychographic insights to tailor digital content and tools to their individual needs and preferences.

How many employees currently work at your company?

We currently have 16 employees.

Describe the culture at your company.

We commit to compassion, diligence, creativity, transparency, and collectivity. We appreciate passion and skill as a practice, and talent as something you invest in, not something you acquire. We give our team the opportunity to do their best work, to change the world, and to find the joy in doing that every day.

What does your leadership team (and company as a whole) do to support/grow that culture?

Avoid arbitrary hierarchies of all kinds; speak openly and honestly; remember that Ayogo is made of people; safeguard the mission of the company.

When your employees talk about your company, what do they brag about?

  • The high calibre of people they work with: talented, kind, smart, diligent.
  • The inspiring projects they work on: helping real people in very difficult circumstances, and leaving the world much better than they found it.
  • The openness and transparency of our culture.

Describe your most recent achievement/milestone as a company.

Every month we have a “what we’re celebrating now: Salad-bration,” where we eat a healthy meal and talk about what we’re celebrating now, personally or collectively, inside or outside the company. Right now, we are working on our next milestone—to double our companies size and revenue in the next 18-24 months! We just need the right people to help us get there.

Are you hiring? Why should a candidate apply to your company? What are the benefits of working for you?

Yes, we are hiring. We rarely post positions, because we rarely hire “just” to fill a position. Part of our interview process is to work with the candidate to write the ideal job description, so it best matches what we need and what they want to do together. Dev, design, project management, product strategy, customer success… If what you read above sounds good to you, we want you to contact us:

Who is the ideal employee for your company?

Somebody who will change our company for the better, maybe in a small way or maybe a big way.

What is your company goal for the coming year?

We have many ambitious goals, but they all roll up to: continuing to build a company that demonstrably improves the world, through our products and through our culture.

Tell us how your product has impacted your clients.

We have a client that uses our software to help new, at-risk moms set and achieve healthy life goals. One nurse who participated in the pilot told the story of a young woman who used our goal-setting tools to build her confidence and create a plan that allowed her to escape an abusive relationship. It was painful, humbling, and inspirational. Software really can change the world.
