Calling all BC Tech members: the government wants to hire you

BC Tech identified in our recently released policy recommendations how important procurement success can be to help companies both gain a crucial reference client and signal to global customers that they’re ready for prime time. Ultimately, this can contribute meaningfully to scaling up and becoming an anchor company. For more on the national angle, read this recent op-ed from Adam Froman in the Globe and Mail [paywall].

If you are a BC tech member with an excellent product or service and an interest in pitching it to the government, please get in touch with us at communications@wearebctech.com and we can give you advice on next steps to take advantage of new programs.

  1. Programs like Sprint With Us and Code With Us are underway, with promising initial results.
  2. The Procurement Concierge Program which will streamline the procurement process to be less costly, more agile, and speedier. (More Details)

Over time we expect further announcements as the BC government continues the rollout of its  Procurement Strategy—watch this space!

At the federal level, don’t forget to take advantage of :

  1. The $100M Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) program, where federal departments and agencies issue outcome-based challenges for marketplace solutions – note that the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) was rolled into ISC.
  2. The Innovation for Defence, Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program.

We hope BC Tech members will take full advantage of the opportunities available to them to best grow their businesses and strengthen the BC tech community’s contribution to provincial and national public services.
