Invinity is looking for a talented engineer or engineer-in-training to join it’s high-skilled and highly collaborative Hardware team working on new product development. In this role you will be working directly and under the supervision of the mechanical engineering team to further develop Invinity’s new products. Tasks will include understanding design requirements, developing failure mode analysis studies, drafting test plans, designing and building test fixtures, carrying out tests, and implementing design changes based on test results.

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in mechanical design, effective communication skills, and an aptitude and energy to learn on the job. Collaboration skills and ability to use collaboration tools is strongly desired.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a engineering or similar post-secondary program, with a focus on mechanical engineering or mechanical design.
  • Interest in mechanical design, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, materials for mechanical design, and alternative energy systems
  • Experience designing mechanical systems (school or personal projects)
  • Knowledge of production methods for fabricating mechanical components elements in metal and / or plastic
  • Experience with 3D CAD software tools – experience with Onshape is preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of manufacturing or production drawings and standards used to create and maintain
  • Ability to work collaborative within a team, with experience using tools such as Microsoft Teams and whiteboarding software such as Miro
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, awareness of structure problem-solving tools a plus (include FMEA, 8-D, 5 whys, fishbone, etc.)
  • Experience creating and executing test plan, writing clear and concise reports
  • Organized and self-motivated, able to thrive with autonomy
  • Position is a flexible hybrid model; part time in office and part time from home
