We are currently tackling the issue of social isolation and loneliness by developing Sunny-1, a lifelong, humanistic robotic companion designed to support older adults and neurodivergent children.

Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced developers to contribute to the optimization and enhancement of our emotion and behavioral tracking app that compliments our robot. You will be involved in various aspects of backend development, including ram optimization speed checks, reducing run time of app, implementing power saving features, and AI ram management architecture design.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the development team to design and implement backend solutions for the emotion/behavioral tracking app.
2. Manage and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
3. Work on integrating third-party services and APIs to enhance app features
4. Troubleshoot and debug backend issues, ensuring smooth app performance
5. Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends to propose innovative solutions

Qualifications

1. Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. Strong knowledge and proficiency in JavaScript, Android Studio, Python, IOS studio, HTML, CSS and OOPS
3. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
4. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
5. Prior experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.

Duration
This internship position will be from May-August 2024, with the possibility of extension based on performance and mutual interest.
