Aspire to Tech – Jelly Marketing & PR

Tell me about your company. When were you founded? What do you do? And where are you located?

Jelly Marketing, is our digital marketing agency that was founded in 2013. We help SME’s amplify their brand online via paid ads, social media, SEO, public relations and content marketing. We also have a second company called Jelly Academy, which is our digital marketing training school that was founded in 2015. We help people gain future ready skills and micro-credentials to land a job or grow their business with digital marketing. Both businesses are located in Fort Langley.

What is the big problem that your company is tackling?

Right now, we’re really focused on supporting our clients through the changing economy that so many businesses are struggling with right now. The last few years have been a whirlwind for everyone in different ways and more than ever before, brands are wanting to ensure that their marketing dollars are accountable and working towards their goals. We’ve always been focused on doing just that for our clients, but it looks a little different sometimes these days as we’re diving deep into strategy to ensure we produce the best results for our clients.

What are you most proud of in terms of company Milestones?

We are so excited to be celebrating 10 years in business at Jelly Marketing this month. We’ve spent a lot of time reminiscing over the last decade – the highs and the lows, the people who have supported us and cheered us on along the way. We’re really just so proud to have hit this milestone and we’re looking forward to seeing where the next 10 take us.

How would you describe your company culture?

I get asked this question a lot by candidates when I’m in the hiring process and I always say that I’d encourage them to reach out to some of our team members on LinkedIn to get a grasp of company culture, because, as a business owner, it’s very easy to ramble on about how great a company culture is, but if it’s not perceived that way by those who work within our four walls, that says more about a company culture than anything.

There’s a running joke amongst a few of our team members who say they’re a part of the “never dread a Monday club”, which has always been something that we’ve been very proud about. That’s not to say that every day is rainbows and butterflies, there’s plenty of challenging days that really test us, but it helps that we have so many passionate, hardworking, and kind individuals on our team that make the harder moments not feel like what many would consider “work”. It’s important to reflect on every decision we make, every process and policy we have in place, and be able to confidently say that our company is run in a way that if our kids were to work at a similar place, we would be thrilled for them. It’s important that the team be able to show up to work feeling equipped to tackle the day, challenged and excited about what they do, to feel heard and not just seen, and to feel highly respected. If we can accomplish that, that’s success.

What are three words you would use to describe your company culture?

Our team would describe the culture as: Supportive, Growth-Focused and People-Centric.

What is it like to work for your company, and why is it a great place to work?

Honestly, it’s a great place to work because of our people. We believe that the heart of any great and successful agency is the people that make the magic happen. Outside of that, our industry is exciting. Digital Marketing is one of the fastest growing industries in Canada, so that means it’s a fast paced, challenging, and inspiring space to be.

In their own words, what do your employees say?

Are you hiring?

I always encourage people to check out our careers page. Even if we don’t have an open position for a specific department, we are big believers in connecting with people who are interested in the digital marketing industry so that in the future, if a position is available, we’re already well connected. https://jelly.jellymarketing.ca/
