08 Nov 2016 The ERA Methane Challenge
Emission Reduction Alberta (ERA, formerly known as Alberta’s Climate Change and Emissions Management Corporation CCEMC) has just announced a $40 million ERA Methane Challenge!
ERA is offering funding up to $5million per winning project. As was the case with previous CCEMC calls for Proposals, under this call for proposals, technology applications may originate from anywhere in the world. To qualify, submissions must address significant methane emissions across Alberta’s sectors, including agriculture, mining, oil and gas, waste management, and other. Types of emissions sources may include but are not limited to point-source emissions (e.g. concentrated methane leaks from a small opening), diffuse-source/non-point-source emissions (e.g. emissions over a large area), distributed-source emissions (e.g. small quantities from a large number of distributed sources), and intermittent/variable emissions. The size of opportunity and potential for widespread methane reductions will be taken into consideration during ERA’s evaluation and project selection.
More guidance to apply can be found here.
If you are aware of solution providers who would be interested in accessing up to $5 million of funding in support of further developing their methane reduction technology (in Alberta) the deadline for applications is December 15th at 5PM MST. ( i.e. Alberta time). This call for proposals has a $40 million dollar envelope.
