30 Day Mindfulness Challenge

The BCTIA is excited to announce that we will be taking part in the 30 Day Movember Mindfulness Challenge running from November 2015 to May 2016!

The Challenge, created in part with a grant from the Movember Foundation, is an innovative training program rooted in neuroscience and delivered online over a period of 30 consecutive days in the month of your choice from November until May. BCTIA staff will participate by learning how to live and work in the present moment. This is proven to reduce stress, anxiety and depression all while increasing performance, leadership skills, focus and conflict resolution. No wonder mindfulness is taught at Harvard Business School, Google, and Goldman Sachs, as well as to the US Armed Forces and the Seattle Seahawks!

UBC’s Sauder School of Business is studying the results of the Challenge, so the BCTIA will be able to see first-hand how mindfulness training can impact employees as well as our organization as a whole. Research says that the increased use of technology and being ‘always on’ is making us sick, leading 500,000 employees to miss work every day due to mental health problems. This is estimated to cost Canadian businesses $6 billion a year!

Take steps with the BCTIA this year to help create and maintain a healthy workplace.
