On January 26th, we celebrated the BC Tech Innovation Hub’s two-year anniversary, or #Hubiversary! We had over 200 people come and join us to celebrate and tour our space, as well as hear from Hub Tenants, Hub Graduates, ecosystem partners, and our sponsors.

Bill Tam kicked off the night speaking about The Hub and how the community has really come together to help us make BC the best place to grow a tech company. After that, we heard from our Hubiversary sponsors, TD Insurance and Traction on Demand. We then heard from Hub Tenants, Semios BIO, HeadCheck Health, and Arius Technology, as they explained why they grow their company at The Hub. Hub Graduate companies, TalentClick, AltumView, and Thinkific, spoke next about how The Hub helped them grow and expand their company. Accel-RX and Discovery Foundation, our ecosystem partners, took the mic next to show how, when everyone works together, BC really does become the best place for tech companies to grow! The speakers were inspiring and made for the perfect kickoff to a great event.

Since The Hub opened it’s doors on December 1, 2014, over 8000 people have visited, we have had 60 tenant companies and hosted over 260 events. Hub Tenant companies have seen 135% net new employee growth and BC Tech hosted a plethora of FinTech days in partnership with Central 1 Credit Union, Coast Capital Savings, FICANEX Services, and PayPal Canada. In addition, BCTechBase.com was launched and 5 companies graduated from HyperGrowth2.0. This would not have been possible without our Hub Founding Partners. Their generosity and support has made this space into much more than we could have hoped for.
