24 Sep 2025 2025 Technology Impact Awards Startup Award – Top 3 Finalists Selected

VANCOUVER, B.C. September 24, 2025 – From a shortlist of 10 finalists, the BC Tech Association (BC Tech) has selected the top 3 companies in the running for the #2025TIAs Company of the Year Startup Award.
Wildfires are increasing in frequency, size, and severity—fueled by climate change, land-use patterns, and strained firefighting resources. Today’s response systems are reactive, human-dependent, and limited by visibility, pilot safety, and slow response times. This results in massive losses: lives, homes, critical infrastructure, air quality, biodiversity, and billions of dollars in economic damage each year. What sets FireSwarm apart is that we are not selling drones—we’re delivering a drone agnostic mission-ready wildfire intelligence platform that saves time, money, and lives. As climate risk becomes central to public safety and business continuity, FireSwarm is positioned to become the go-to operating system for wildfire.
At Glüxkind, we are revolutionizing early parenthood through intelligent technology that empowers, supports, and evolves with modern families. Our flagship product, the Rosa Smart Stroller, is an AI-powered parenting companion that goes way beyond the traditional. With features like adaptive push and brake assist, auto-rocking, built-in white noise and stories, real-time GPS tracking, and app-enabled personalization, Glüxkind supports new parents throughout their daily journeys.
Insporos is revolutionizing the way we grow our food, produce our seeds, and breed our plants. Up to 50% of the seeds planted in our greenhouses will never go on to become mature, yielding plants, due to issues like low germination or vigour, plant abnormalities, or seed-borne disease. The Insporos technology provides a solution. Insporos analyzes each individual seed using our proprietary hardware to gather unique data and processing this data with AI to find defective or diseased seeds and sort them out before planting. This conserves these valuable resources and improves efficiency in our greenhouses by allowing growers to focus their time and energy on growing quality, healthy plants.
Hosted at the Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP Vancouver offices, the 10 finalists for the Company of the Year Startup award pitched live on Sept 24th to a panel of industry judges. FireSwarm, Glüxkind and Insporos were announced as the top finalists, securing their spot in the final round at the TIAs, where the winner will be crowned on October 23rd.
Dan Box, GM/VP of EA Ventures, sponsor of the Startup of the Year award, reflected on the night, “Partnerships like this one matter. The passion on display at Pitch Night was truly inspiring.”
