TTBC Launch

On February 12th, BCTIA launched TechTalentBC (TTBC) to a lively room of entrepreneurs and HR professionals passionate about bridging the talent gap in BC’s tech sector. TTBC is a brand new suite of programs designed to support the growth and development of tech companies in BC by facilitating connections between candidates and hiring companies, encouraging professional and organizational growth, promoting BC as a world-class tech hub and showcasing careers in tech.

Hosted at the BCTIA Innovation Hub, the invite-only crowd was filled with guests from the technology sector, academia or partner associations.

Camila Louzada, Manager of Talent Programs at BCTIA, kicked off the evening with an overview of TTBC’s initiatives to help companies find, attract, and retain talent, while detailing the many ways in which organizations can get involved. Co-host Ryan St. Germaine, CEO of BCJobs.ca and Jobcast, followed with a keynote presentation on the future of recruitment, speaking to the constant changes in recruitment trends and providing tactical tips on how to build an effective recruitment strategy.

The TechTalentBC launch party also marked the official launch of BC Tech Jobs, a premier online job board created in partnership between BCTIA and BCJobs.ca. This new site leverages innovative technology to match skilled, qualified talent with BC tech companies who are looking to hire.

But it wasn’t all business at the TTBC launch – a big congratulations goes out to the winners of our door prizes, including Appnovation and Maximizer, who each received complimentary access to BC Tech Jobs exclusive launch partner offer and tickets to BCTIA’s upcoming TalentFX.
