Recap: 2017 Technology Impact Awards

On Thursday, June 22nd the tech community came together for the 24th annual Technology Impact Awards, and it was our largest celebration yet. Over 1,100 tech entrepreneurs, investors, and tech supporters gathered at the Vancouver Convention Centre for the sold-out event. From the application period, to the finalist announcements, to the night itself, we’ve loved every minute of the #2017TIAs. This year’s TIAs was especially memorable not only because of our eleven incredible award winners but also because it was our President & CEO Bill Tam’s final time hosting the gala. Bill was honoured with a touching tribute video, a thank you speech from the Chair of our Board of Directors, Jill Tipping, and a standing ovation. We would not have been able to make this night possible without the support of the community. In particular, we wish to give a big thank you to our Platinum Sponsors, CIBC and TELUS, our Gold Sponsors, KPMGSierra Wireless, and Freeman Audio Visual, and to our many other sponsors and partners. We’d also like to give a special shout out to the 17 Tomorrow’s Titans sponsors for hosting up-and-coming tech entrepreneurs. We are lucky to have so many companies in our community that are willing to pay it forward and invest in the future of tech in our province! If you missed the TIAs, or simply wish to experience them again, please check out the Winner’s Circle, view a sneak peek of the photos below, or visit our Facebook albums to check out pictures from the red carpet and the awards celebration.
