Jill Tipping of Schneider Electric joins BCTIA Board of Directors

BURNABY, BC, NOVEMBER 5, 2014 (via Digital Journal) – Schneider Electric, the global leader in solutions for the solar power conversion chain, is pleased to announce that Jill Tipping, Vice-President Operations & Chief Financial Officer for Schneider Electric’s Solar Business, has joined the Board of Directors of the BC Technology Industry Association (BCTIA).

“British Columbia (BC) is the global headquarters of Schneider Electric’s Solar Business and our investments in BC jobs and technology strengthen the province’s Clean Tech ecosystem,” said Jill Tipping. “On a personal level, I’m thrilled to join the Board and help advance the BCTIA’s mission to make BC a tech powerhouse and a global beacon of innovation for Canada.”

Premier Christy Clark officially launched Schneider Electric’s new cutting edge MicroGrid lab earlier this year.

Schneider Electric’s global Solar Business is comprised of 450 employees, approximately half of which are based in the BC headquarters. With more than 1GW of utility scale shipments in 2013, Schneider Electric was recently recognized by GTM Research, a leading research firm covering the solar market, as one of the top three most competitive solar inverter companies in the world.
