About this Award
This award acknowledges the impact technology adoption can have to significantly improve performance, competitiveness, productivity and employee engagement. Nominees are likely to be companies, but applications are welcome from municipalities, government departments, non-profits and post-secondary institutions. The winner of this award will show how technology improved results and had a positive impact on the whole organization.
Who Should Apply?
Nominees in this category must be:
- BC-based
- Using technology to impact their business—ideally (but not exclusively) BC technology
Evaluation Criteria
The following criteria will be used to evaluate nominees:
- Awards Pitch (max. 250 words) – 20%
This award acknowledges the impact technology adoption can have to significantly improve performance, competitiveness, productivity and employee engagement. Why does your company best exemplify what this award celebrates? How have you embraced technology adoption within your organization?
- Business Context (max. 500 words) – 20%
Give us more information on your business context. What business are you in and why do your products/solutions matter to BC? Who are your competitors, what are your key markets, what is your mission and what contribution do you make to BC? What are the wider and future implications of your success?
- Technology adoption details (max. 500 words) – 25%
Describe the technology you adopted. What problem were you trying to solve? What opportunity were you looking to realize? If you used a partner to deploy the technology, what made you choose that partner? Were there any challenges along the way? How were those overcome and what did you learn?
- Technology adoption business impact (max. 750 words) – 35%
Did the deployment deliver what was hoped for? Were there any unplanned benefits from the technology adoption in other areas? Please provide 2-3 key metrics that you use in your business and show how the technology deployment improved those performance metrics. What are the next steps now that you have adopted this technology – will you go further? What about your technology adoption story can inspire and encourage others? How did your adoption of technology increase the resilience of your company?
