Connection Day Success Story: Knomos Accepted into Microsoft Accelerator Program

Author: Clayton Racine Weir

We regularly get the opportunity to connect interesting startups with multinational partners and investors like Microsoft, LG, Samsung, Tech Mahindra and Dow. The main vehicle for these introductions are Connection Days, a small group of curated private meetings between BC startups and MNE partners.

Last November we hosted representatives from Microsoft Ventures, who met with companies in the Big Data and Machine Learning Space. They were actively looking for companies to participate in their accelerator program based in Seattle, WA, so we invited some of the best companies in the sector to meet Microsoft. Companies were invited to a lunch n’ learn presented by Microsoft Ventures and to private meetings with the representatives.

Out of the companies who participated in these events, Vancouver-based legal technology firm Knomos has officially been selected to join the Machine Learning cohort of the Seattle-based Microsoft Accelerator program. This is a huge milestone as this makes them the second Canadian company (the first being Ontario-based Beagle) and the first ever BC-based company to be accepted into the Seattle-based program. As Knomos’ CEO, Adam La France, stated in their blog, “Simply put: This. Is. Huge.”

We couldn’t agree more and we are extremely excited to follow their progress over the coming months. In the meantime, we will keep connecting the most prestigious tech giants with the best-curated startups that BC has to offer in order to continue helping BC-based companies achieve new milestones.
