TalentFX Recap

Author: BC Tech Association

On March 12, 2015, 15 developers and 13 top tech companies came together at BCTIA’s TalentFX. Presented in partnership with BC Tech Jobs, TalentFX brought forth curated intermediate-to-senior web and software developers to meet some of Vancouver’s most prominent companies currently looking to hire.

The participants all had fun, but the benefits were also clear to both the candidates and companies. Kam Sumal, HR Generalist at Simba Technologies, revealed that they “identified a few candidates that [they] believe have the right skills and would fit well in [their] company and are pursuing the selected candidates further.” She also reflected on the format of the event, noting that “mingling after the interview process was great. We had the opportunity to meet candidates in a casual environment, and to socialize with the organisers too. I was impressed and am hopeful that BCTIA will continue to organize such events which are beneficial to most tech companies.”

Both companies and candidates enjoyed the unique event format; having the opportunity to meet 1-to-1 for 5-minute interviews and then network in a casual setting over snacks and beverages.

Jason Collinge, VP of Technology at Payfirma Corporation, added that “we really enjoyed meeting all the great candidates and companies at the TalentFX event. We look forward to the next one!”

Not only did the companies get to meet 15 great intermediate to senior candidates, they also received another 8 junior developer profiles for their consideration.
