VANCOUVER, B.C. June 11, 2025 – BC Tech is proud to announce the 43 finalists across 10 Technology Impact Award categories who achieved exceptional success in the past year.

A standout moment of the evening was the announcement of the finalists for the newly inaugurated Gamechanger – Deal of the Year award. Collectively the finalists for the Deal of the Year award represent $3Billion in investment in BC from these 5 transactions alone. “These deals recognize that BC’s tech ecosystem has matured” said Jill Tipping, CEO of BC Tech. “BC’s tech sector contributes 8% of BC’s GDP and 8% of BC’s jobs and has grown faster than the economy as a whole for each of the last 10 years. Today we are building globally competitive companies that are putting down roots as BC’s newest anchor companies in what is now a core provincial industrial sector.”

The 10 shortlisted companies announced as finalists for the Company of the Year – Startup award will compete for a finalist spot this Fall at BC Tech’s Dragon’s Den Pitch Night, proudly presented by Electronic Arts. “Celebrating bold, creative thinking is at the heart of what we do at EA.
