Celebrating the Achievements of BC’s Tech Industry at the 2015 TIAs

On June 4th, over 1,000 people were gathered at the Vancouver Convention Centre to celebrate the successes of our industry at the 2015 Technology Impact Awards. From the announcement of the Finalists at TechBrew to the very last drink served at the Tech Block Party, it seemed like the TIAs lasted only a moment, and were over before we knew it.

This event is not possible without the help and support of many people within our industry. First, the BCTIA would like to thank our special guest, the Honourable Christy Clark, Premier of BC, for joining us and delivering an inspiring welcome address. We would also like to thank MLAs George Heyman and Bruce Ralston, as well as Co-Chair of the Premier’s Technology Council, Greg Peet for being with us. We also wish to extend a special thank you to the Honourable Amrik Virk, Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens’ Services, for not only joining us at the TIAs, but for presenting the Most Promising Startup Award on behalf of Award Sponsor, BCIC.

We also wish to give a BIG thank you to our generous sponsors, for making the TIAs possible, along with the Tomorrow’s Titans sponsors, for hosting close to 100 tech entrepreneurs as part of the Tomorrow’s Titans Programs. This “pay it forward” attitude is part of what makes BC one of the best places to start and grow a tech company.

If you missed the TIAs, or simply wish to experience them again, please check out some highlights from our event feed (courtesy of Tradable Bits), view photos in the slideshow below, or visit our Flickr album to catch a glimpse of everyone’s sartorial splendor from the red carpet, the awards dinner and the after party.
