15 Jan 2020 The 2020 #WhatWorks – BC Tech’s Women In Tech Series
Diversity is a hot topic in the tech industry — and because it’s discussed frequently, it might be easy to feel like things have already changed. But the fact is women make up only 18 percent of the tech workforce here in B.C.
On December 4th 2019, BC Tech celebrated what was scheduled to be the conclusion of our #WhatWorks Women in Tech fall series, which was designed to move the dial on increasing the participation and success of women in the technology industry. The series has received many positive acknowledgements on how it has pushed change to the industry by equipping hundreds of women with strategies for shaping successful tech careers.
The response to fall series and our recommendations has been so remarkable, we are thrilled to announce that #WhatWorks series has been extended through March. Through a series of solution-oriented events, from roundtable discussions to skills workshops and panels, #WhatWorks Women in Tech Winter series aim to boost participation of women in tech and learn from empowering leaders from PwC, Electronic Arts, Business in Vancouver, Hootsuite, High impact lab, Northwest Capital, Rival Technologies and many more. Join us, in sharing success stories and strategies that lead the way for the wider community
