The mission of Webmainland Media Ltd is to bridge the inclusion gap between the local community and Chinese newcomers and immigrants. The company was founded in October 2015, and we started our journey by helping the Chinese community obtain Diverse community resources.

What we do

With the growing immigrant population and the need for diversity and inclusion, one pressing issue is the lack of connection channels between local communities and newcomers. And because of the language barrier and cultural differences, local communities cannot serve customers if they don’t fully understand.

We have gathered a group of web designers, data scientists, writers, analysts, and programmers working together to help local businesses, real estate agents and community stakeholders. During COVID -19, we started to build Linli Talk: a smart social connector that introduces newcomers and immigrants to small group video gatherings, expanding newcomers’ local connections to diverse community resources.

The R&D

Our community marketing solutions connect locals with Chinese newcomers and immigrants. This requires automation and the applications of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain.We build plenty of digital applications to transform community engagement and cross-cultural connection. We advocate energy efficiency initiatives across neighbourhoods and communities. We use digitalization and creativity to build new neighbourhoods.

Your Role & Responsibility

We are looking for a full-time, experienced short video editor with basic shooting knowledge. And some graphic design experience.

The perfect candidate should be able to edit 2-4 short videos per week on time. The completed videos will be published on Tik Tok, Youtube, Little Red Book, Wechat channels etc. The videos will be 1 minute to no longer than 15 minutes. Some examples of sample videos you would be editing:

Your duties include:

  • Create promotional posters for weekly webinars using design software or web-based designing tools such as Canva, Fotor etc.
  • Design compelling video thumbnails for social media short videos
  • Join weekly webinars for recordings and ensure video + audio quality is set up to the highest possible standards. Make short videos with keynotes from webinar recordings.
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the video, input music, subtitles, graphics and effects
  • Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process, make sure the final video
  • Upload completed videos to social media platforms timely.
  • Undertake other design-related tasks as assigned.

What you bring

  • Experience editing short social media videos like Tik Tok, Youtube, Little Red Book, Wechat channels etc.
  • Experience in graphic design.
  • Skilled in using one of the major video editing suites (e.g. CapCut, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)
  • Skillful in adding sound effects and audio to enhance the mood, using filters.
  • Keeping branding (colours, fonts) consistent throughout the content
  • Familiar with basic shooting by a digital camera
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills
  • Work with the team to ensure content is met for promotional blogs and posts.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Mandarin, fluent in English

The Location

This position will be primarily working from home/remote. You will be required to attend online team meetings.
