About the Company:

Castofly is developing a cloud-based platform to seamlessly create and collaborate on videos. It eliminates the need to use multiple software and reduces end-to-end content creation time by 70%. Unlike large and rigid screen-captured videos, our proprietary file format is up to 100x smaller than traditional videos and easy to change post-production paving the way for a video collaboration platform equivalent to GoogleDocs for documents. Despite our short presence (founded in Feb 2020), Castofly was listed as one of Top 10 startups (out of +250 teams) in the New Venture BC Competition 2020 and won Innovate BC People’s Choice Award.

Our current Challenge:

We are currently looking to find innovative ways to test our product for different market segments, acquire early adopters, and generate viral traction as we plan to raise $2M by the end of summer. Here are two use cases we are currently exploring: 1) Podofly helps podcasters convert long audios to engaging videos within minutes (Demo), 2) Another potential use case is to create and collaborate on pitch deck or any other documents (Demo).

Who we need:

This is a challenging-yet-fun opportunity to get involved in an early-stage startup. The ideal applicant would be a hustler who is comfortable to wear multiple hats (sales & marketing, and biz dev) and can work with minimum supervision under extreme uncertainty.  He/she is visionary, sociable, confident, organized, ambitious, hard working and self-motivated. Some of the main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Identifying and executing initiatives to drive traffic to our platform
  • Regularly analyzing our website’s analytics & user data to show the effectiveness of different actions
  • Demoing the technology and securing early adopters by different means
  • Organizing demos at universities, workshops, and tradeshows
  • Optimizing our SEO and improving the organic ranking of our landing page
  • Identify potential strategic partners and help CEO to build the relationship
  • Creating sales & digital marketing content
  • Running social media campaigns

  • Strong background in digital marketing
  • Strong ability to communicate in copywriting and presentation
  • Clear vision on how to develop customer acquisition methods
  • Real go-getter
  • Comfortable to work under extreme uncertainty
  • Good level of technical understanding (including coding and AI) would be an asset
