Indigenous Internships

Did you know there are over 150,000 tech jobs in BC right now? By 2021, the number is expected to grow to 196,000 jobs.​

With Indigenous people representing less than 1% of technology jobs in BC, there lies a tremendous opportunity to develop Indigenous talent for the future workforce by both attracting and maintaining Indigenous employees in the sector. Although there are programs training technical skills for Indigenous youth none provide the next stage of hands-on work experience.  

There are creative, problem solving opportunities that pay well—tech workers earn 75% more than the average British Columbian. The hottest companies in tech in Vancouver are looking for interns, including Microsoft, Vancity, Providence Health, Accenture, SAP, and Unbounce!

BC Tech’s HyperTalent program has partnered with these amazing companies and BCIT’s Indigenous Initiatives and Partnerships department to arrange 12 Internships for Indigenous post-secondary students and recent graduates.

Winter Internship:

January-April 2020

May-August 2020
