Growth Programs

Growing the Next Generation of Tech Companies in BC.

British Columbia boasts one of the most vibrant startup ecosystems in the world. Our goal is to provide deep and meaningful accelerator programs for Growth and Scale-stage companies to create the next Hootsuite, Global Relay, and MDA. We provide education from experienced coaches, connectivity to the best partners and investors, and we drive accountability and focus through intensive cohort programs.

BC’s only second-stage revenue accelerator.

As part of a six-month cohort, HyperGrowth companies actively participate in a residency program focused on driving revenue growth. Companies are selected for the program through an application and pitch process to then receive support and advice from world-class advisors and active CEOs from Vancouver's leading tech companies.

BC’s only cohort-based program for Health, Life Sciences, and Agritech companies.

Based on the success of HyperGrowth, HyperGrowth:Life is a 12-month cohort-based program designed to support healthtech, digital health, life sciences, agritech and other related companies that are commercialized, or nearing commercialization, and ready to grow at hyper speed. Companies work with an advisory team of leading experts from Vancouver's tech industry. By providing unprecedented access to senior leaders and resources, we help cohort companies land their first deals, develop scalable go-to-market plans, and achieve sustained growth.

FinTech Program

Building Vancouver's FinTech Cluster.

British Columbia is home to a vibrant FinTech cluster of close to 100 companies – nearly one-third of which are less than five years old. In light of this, we've designed a program to support FinTech companies that are Growth-stage and beyond, and to connect them with financial institutions, investors, and partners. The BC Tech FinTech Program is a combination of events open to the entire community and curated experiences specific to Growth-stage companies. The core areas of support include FinTech Days, coaching and expertise, as well as connections and community building.

Connection Days

Building bridges through connections.

The BC Tech Association has one of the biggest rolodexes in town (for those of you under 40, that means we are well-connected with the partners, investors, and customers that tech companies need to grow). As part of our Growth Programs, Connection Days are designed to bring BC-based tech companies together with industry leaders, technology buyers and investors to promote strategic partnerships, funding, and company growth. Events occur periodically throughout the year and selection to participate is by invitation or through applying online.

We focus on second-stage companies. For software companies, this generally means companies with more than $250K in annual revenue. For hardware, cleantech and medtech companies, we look for the equivalent amount of IP, funding, or team experience.

While our focus is on second-stage companies, we can certainly point you in the right direction. Early-stage companies are more likey to find the support they need from our partners such as Launch Academy, Spring, New Ventures BCForesight and WaveFront. We also recommend e@UBC and SFU’s programs for students or alumni, and the NRC Concierge is another great resource for young companies.

We suggest looking at Small Business BC or Futurpreneur for support. Both are great resources that work with a wide range of businesses.

We are not a funding agency, but we do coach our companies on how to pitch and what they need to know when raising funds. We also make introductions to angel, VC and strategic investors where applicable.
