Adoption of Technology

PLEASE NOTE: This award is a co-application between a technology supplier and their customer. Both companies must be located in British Columbia.

This award acknowledges a technology company and their customer for the installation of a product or solution that has significantly improved the productivity, competitiveness, or profitability of the customers company. The submission must include tangible benefits or improvements realized by the customer, and is prepared by the tech company in collaboration with their customer.

Who Should Apply?

This award is open to companies that are:

  • At any stage of the company lifecycle; startup, growth-stage, established, etc.
  • Technology-focused (not open to Professional Service firms)
  • BC-based (head office and/or full-time presence in BC)
  • Working with a client located in BC

Evaluation Criteria

The application process will require that the following questions are answered. Please use the information below to help prepare your application prior to submission.

  1. Company Description - A summary of the company, similar to what would be used at the end of a press release. 100 words maximum.
  2. Company History - Describe the origin and founding of the company, including key dates. 300 words maximum.
  3. Customer Description - A summary of the company, similar to what would be used at the end of a press release. 100 words maximum.
  4. Customer History - Describe the origin and founding of the company, including key dates. 300 words maximum.
  5. Selection of the Technology Solution (500 words maximum)
    • What was the customer looking for/what problem were they trying to solve?
    • Why was the technology solution chosen?
    • What made it unique? 
  6. Company Selection (500 words maximum)
    • Why was this company chosen?
    • What made this company the best option?
    • What made the technology supplier stand out from all the rest?
  7. Execution (500 words maximum)
    • What was the process of implementing this technology?
    • What key factors contributed to the successful installation of the product? Provide testimonials, if appropriate.
  8. Benefits or improvements realized (500 words maximum)
    • Outline the tangible benefits or improvements the customer realized as a result of the installation of the technology. ie. revenue generation, cost savings, increased productivity, etc.

All information provided in the application is kept confidential.

Preparing Your Application

This award application requires collaboration between the company and their customer to complete one submission. Each application for this category should contain two companies; a BC-based tech company and their BC-based customer.

Finalists will be announced at TechBrew on May 4th, and winners will be announced at the Technology Impact Awards Gala on June 22nd.

Please note that nominations are not required. All companies can apply for all awards without a nomination.
